In 2021, our lives changed when we welcomed our rescue dog, Remus, into our family. He had a difficult start in life and still finds new and unfamiliar environments overwhelming. When we began looking for suitable care for him while we were away, we quickly realised there was a lack of services for animals like Remus who, for whatever reason, are much happier being cared for in their own homes. This inspired me to start Paws and Play, providing pets with the care, attention and companionship they need while allowing them to remain in the comfort and security of their own environment.

I have loved and cared for animals for many years and have always had a passion for making sure they receive the attention, affection and care they deserve. Our home is currently shared with Remus, Lupin our Husky, Lyra, our Rottie x Cockapoo, and my two sons, Arlo and Bailey, who are both toddlers.

Lupin is an intelligent and wonderfully stubborn Husky who loves to give backchat, go on long walks and enjoy a dip in the river. Then there’s Remus, our Romanian rescue, who loves nothing more than a cuddle—and if you dare to stop, he’ll happily use his paws or snoot to encourage you to carry on! Lyra is our energetic bundle of fun who is still in the midst of adolescence. She can usually be found following the boys around, keeping a close eye on their latest adventures and joining in with their mischief!

I have experience caring for a wide variety of animals, including rodents, birds, reptiles, dogs, cats and more. I understand that every animal is unique, with their own personality, needs and routines, and I believe they deserve care that is tailored specifically to them. My aim is to provide a safe, loving and comfortable environment where every pet can feel happy, relaxed and well cared for while their owners are away.
